Important information

Where is the departure point?

The Driver-Guide for your shore excursion will meet you at the entrance gate at Invergordon Cruise port. If you need any further information, please contact our Reservations Team directly. We kindly ask all passengers to ensure they are 15 minutes early.

Are optional extras included?

No, optional extras are not included in the tour price. The price of your one day tour from Inverness includes the services of a friendly, knowledgeable and experienced Driver-Guide, and transportation on one of our luxury modern air-conditioned coaches.

All optional extras - attraction entrance fees, loch cruises, food and drinks, etc - are not included in the price of your tour. This is to allow our guests the freedom to choose which optional extras they would like to take part in on the day.

Optional extras for your tour (From April 2026) are as follows:

Cawdor Castle: Adult £17.00, Child: £8.50
Glen Ord Distillery: Adult: £14.40, Child: £12.00

Do I need to pre-book the optional extras?

We strongly recommend pre-booking Cawdor Castle and Glen Ord Distillery through us to guarantee entry and help manage visitor numbers. Walk-in bookings may be available on the day, but are subject to availability.

Is the tour in English?

Yes, all of our tours are in English. Your trip to Edinburgh will be taken by an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly English-speaking Driver-Guide.

What should I bring with me?

As we like to give you as much time off the coach as possible with the opportunity for walks, we recommend you bring warm and/or waterproof clothing, wear comfortable walking shoes and take sun-block or a hat for sunny days. Don't forget your camera to capture all the lovely scenery and wildlife you'll encounter on your tour! Since we cannot allow hot food on our buses you could also bring a cold packed lunch with you to make the most of your time at each stop, this would be particularly time-saving in the busier months!

We always ensure passengers return back to their port on time, however in the rare case we can't make it, we will transfer you to your next port of call.

Can children travel on this tour?

We welcome children over 4 years old on our tours, and children aged between 4-16yrs are eligible for the concessionary rate. We regret we are not able to carry children under the age of 4 on any of our Edinburgh shore excursions.

Explore Inverness and the Highlands

Departing Invergordon, we travel to our first stop of the day, Cawdor Castle. Set amid beautiful gardens in Nairnshire, Cawdor Castle is the ancestral home of the Campbells and dates back to the 15th Century. Spend time here exploring the castle and its picturesque surroundings.

We then leave Nairnshire and journey on towards Dores Beach, situated on the banks of Loch Ness, for a quick photo stop, allowing you the opportunity for a quick bit of Nessie Hunting!

Our adventure then heads to Inverness; Capital of the Highlands. We spend over an hour here, plenty of time to enjoy lunch and walk along the banks of the River Ness and perhaps get some good views of Inverness Castle.

From Inverness, our Invergordon shore excursion continues on to Loch Ness for a quick photo and refreshment break, allowing you the opportunity for a quick bit of Nessie Hunting!

Discover Glen Ord, Home to The Singleton

After time to explore Inverness and grab some lunch, our 1-day Inverness shore excursion moves on to our last stop of the day, Glen Ord Distillery.

Glen Ord is the only remaining single malt whisky distillery situated in the Black Isle and is the home of Singleton Whisky. Enjoy a tour of the distillery, finishing off your Invergordon Shore Excursion with a tasting of the Singleton of Glen Ord 12-year-old whisky.

We then return to Invergordon, where your Inverness, Cawdor Castle & Highland Whisky shore excursion ends.
